The Quebec government will be distributing over 10 million rapid COVID tests in all Quebec pharmacies as of next Monday December 20th, 2021.
The Quebec government is also asking all Quebecers to work from home as cases of COVID have started to spike again and hospitalizations have started climb rapidly over the past week.
Quebec Health Minister Claude Dubé has also mentioned that they are monitoring the situation of the impact of the COVID variant Omicron.

As of now the rules for the holiday gatherings are still at 20 people per house hold and Health Minister Dubé has not said if this will still be allowed. Dubé stressed that employees should have their staff work from home if at all possible.
Where can I get the FREE rapid COVID tests?
Quebecers will be allowed to receive 5 free COVID rapid tests for every 30 days and will be available at all 1,900 pharmacies as of Monday.
Dubé stated, that they people are underestimating the situation. “What we know is the experts agree this variant is a lot more transmissible than Delta. It travels faster and hits more often. This variant is believed to be two or three times more contagious than the Delta variant and non-vaccinated people are more likely to be infected with COVID variant Omicron.
As of now a total of 10% of all Quebecers have not been vaccinated and those are the people at the moment who are being hospitalized.
Dubé is urging people to exercise caution in their interactions with other people because there are still a number of unanswered questions about the variant.
