Quebec adds new curfew

The Quebec government imposes a new curfew, closes down restaurant dining rooms and will delay the opening of schools to try and deter the number of the COVID-19 Omicron variant cases. Also non-essential business will be closed on Sundays.

The new measures also included that only one household bubble will be allowed in indoor gatherings on December 31st, 2021.

The new restrictions will start to be in effect December 31st at 5 P.M. People who are caught outside of their home without a valid reason between the hours of 10 P.M. and 5 A.M. will have the risk of being fined up to $6,000. As of now there is no implication on when the curfew will be lifted.

Indoor sports are suspended. Ski chalets will be allowed open just for skiers to warm up and have access to restrooms. Plus no food will be served indoors but will be permitted for takeout.

The total number of record new cases today is a staggering 14,188 with a new 1,242 patients omitted to hospitals across the province of Quebec.
