Hwy 40 and Hwy 13 closures back on weekend of January 24th – 27th

Hwy 40 and Hwy 13 closures

After having to postpone the work planned for last weekend because of inclement weather conditions, work on the Hwy 13 overpass has now been officially rescheduled for this weekend – January 24th to the 27th. Here is what you need to know:

Due to the demolition work of the Hwy 13 overpass heading South, Hwy 40 and the service roads will be closed in both the East and West directions at the interchange starting on Friday January 24th at 11:00pm until Monday January 27th at 5:00am. Hwy 13 Northbound at the interchange will stay open. Construction and rebuilding of the overpass and ramps at the interchange started in May of 2018, because of its unsafe and poor condition, and will continue well into 2020. Between 90,000 and 140,000 plus cars use Hwy 13 North and South daily. Transport Quebec is advising drivers to avoid the area and instead use Hwy 20 for those in Montreal area. South Shore users are being advised to use Hwy 30 and drivers who use Hwy 13 North and South are advised to take Hwy 15. *Weather conditions could delay the work.

This comes not long after Hwy 40 was closed last November in the Vaudreuil-Dorion area for the demolition of the Chemin des Chenaux overpass, also for safety concerns.
