SQ Police checkpoints – Remember if you are planning on going somewhere think twice. The Quebec provincial police (SQ) are manning checkpoints in Quebec to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
At this time the Provincial police will not be handing out tickets and are calling the operation stops “awareness points”. The SQ say they are trying to help educate the population and tell commuters that they should not be driving around and crossing zones unless they absolutely need to.
Checkpoints will be on the way heading to the Eastern Townships, the Laurentians, Charlevoix and Chaudiere-Appalaches.
Quebec premier François Legault said, “Signage will be posted between regions to remind everyone and will stay up as long as necessary.”
