New Mtl business aims to give Valentine’s Day goodies to seniors

Valentine's Day goodies

Valentine’s Day goodies – If you love sweets then you’ll love what Miranda Pugh has cooking up with her new Montreal based confectionary gift company called Sweetcuterie.  “I love sweets and love sharing them with people in beautiful packages that gives them a chance to admire the presentation of the gift while also enjoying one of life’s greatest luxuries – delicious desserts.  Our business is really about an expression of affection, love and thought in a time when these things mean the most.”

Sweetcuterie Valentine’s Day goodies

Sweetcuterie launched in February with a Valentine collection that consists of gourmet candy, chocolate and cookie boxes and a special feature for Valentine’s Day that includes a dozen lavender and pink roses alongside a signature cookie box mini.  The beautifully arranged collections of confectionery are what the owner refers to as the charcuterie of sweets.

But it’s not just their new customers that Sweetcuterie is looking to romance this Valentine’s Day, they are also donating 25 flower bouquets to elderly homebound Montrealers through local organization Entraide Bénévole Metro (EBM).

Sweetcuterie owner, Miranda Pugh said, “I love to bake because of my grandmother and when I moved to Montreal in 2017 I began volunteering with EBM- an amazing organization that provides grocery shopping, in home visits and other services to seniors experiencing a loss of autonomy and the experience really touched my heart.  Especially after this past year, I wanted the launch of Sweetcuterie to honor my grandmother, and to also bring some much deserved joy to this community at Valentine’s Day.  Not that I’m biased, but nothing brightens the heart like flowers and cookies.”

Sweetcuterie’s collection of cookies and sweet boxes are available for local delivery in greater Montreal and will soon be available for overnight shipping within Quebec, see their beautiful array of sweets at www.sweetcuterie.com.

*If you would like to brighten the life of a senior by volunteering at EBM, please send an email to ebmmetro@vif.com.
