The Premier of Quebec Francois Legault held a Press conference today with a series of restrictions that have been lifted. Not everything will be lifted at once but we are heading in the right direction.
Bars will be allowed to reopen, no limit on venues, organized sports will resume and there will be no limit on household gatherings.
List of Quebec COVID restrictions lifted:
- Saturday February 12 – Home gatherings will no longer have a limit on the number of people allowed, (The public health still recommends having not more than 10 people)
- Monday February 14 – Organized sports will be allowed to resume (Tournaments will only be allowed to start two weeks later February 28, 2022.)
- Gyms and Spas will be allowed to reopen
- Monday February 21 – All retail businesses will be allowed to reopen at full capacity.
- Places of worship will remain at 50 per cent capacity with a maximum of 500 people
- Monday February 28 – Working from home will no longer be mandatory
- Large sporting events like the Bell Centre will be allowed to operate at 50 per cent capacity
- Bars will be allowed to reopen at 50 per cent capacity (some restrictions will remain like, no dancing, karaoke until March 14)
- As of March 14 all restaurants, bars, and large venues will be allowed to operate at full capacity
At this time there are no plans to lift the restrictions on mandatory mask wearing and the province’s vaccine passport program.
