5 activities not to miss at La Fête des Neiges Montreal

From January 19th to February 10th at Parc Jean-Drapeau (on weekends only), Fête des neiges brings together thousands of visitors. This popular family-oriented winter event has a programming geared toward enjoying the outdoors and offers many shows and a wide array of activities.

We picked 5 activities for you not to miss during the 36th edition of this traditional Montreal Winter Celebration.

– Ice Sculpting 

What? Interactive demonstration, every day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
When :  Shows: 1:45 p.m. and 4 p.m.

-Dance party

What? Fun-filled shows in which Fête des neiges personalities gather on stage along with Boule de neige (the mascot) to get people of all ages moving about and keeping warm.

When: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m daily

– Frosty Slides

What? Venture into this Ice Village composed of 18 ice slides of varying heights and sizes that will delight the entire family.

The Frosty Slides is the one of the few activities that is not free during La Fête des Neiges, but the purchase of the Sliding Pass provides unlimited access to all Fête des Neiges activities during the eight days of the event. The Pass also has other advantages:

  • Free entrance to the Biosphere, Environment Museum and the Stewart Museum during the event
  • Discount on Parc Jean-Drapeau memory album Two islands, one park, one city.

-The Ice Ship

What? : Again this year, La Fête des Neiges has build a giant Ice Ship where kids can meet Capitaine Crinière and his crew members. Aboard the massive “Ice” pirate ship, you will also be able to do some sliding in a Winter Wonderland setting.

– Dog sledding

What : Yes, you can practice dogsledding in Montreal… during La Fête des Neiges! Along with a guide, take a seat and get an introduction to dogsledding few minutes from downtown

When? You need to make your reservation in advance and purchase tickets.
