Hudson’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade – With great pride and excitement, the Hudson Parade Committee is proud to announce that Mr. Chris Nilan has accepted to be the first ever Chief Reviewing Officer of Hudson’s 5th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade to be held Saturday, March 15.
The ex-Habs enforcer will judge the floats, groups and associations that are participating in the 2014 parade, and will then have the arduous task of choosing the best float, group or association in various categories.
Parade co-organizer Jim Beauchamp says, “I can’t believe Chris (Knuckles) Nilan will be in the Hudson parade. I am a long time Habs fan, and a HUGE Chris Nilan fan, so it will be great to have him part of the parade.”
Christopher John Nilan earned every minute of the 688 NHL regular season games he played patrolling the right-wing for the Montreal Canadiens, Boston Bruins and New York Rangers.
Hudson’s parade celebrating all things Irish will take place on Saturday, March 15, 2014
Fiercely loyal to his teammates and his club, Chris answered the call every time, racking up over 3,000 penalty minutes during his pro career, many of them earned against some of the toughest players the NHL has ever seen. For an Irish kid from the streets of West Roxbury, Massachusetts where the Irish settled scores with their fists, there was no other way. Chris learned one important lesson early on: whatever happens, never back down, and never stay down. The lesson stuck.
Nilan will walk at the front of the parade, just behind this year’s Grand Marshall, Mr. Joey Elias.
He will then be in the stands in front of Cunninghams Pub working diligently to decide who will be the BEST OF 2014 and, of course, enjoying the parade.
