Concordia University will be hosting a very exciting event this September and it’s free. Kathy Reichs, the world famous professor, author and forensic anthropologist will be sitting down with CTV’s award winning broadcaster Caroline Van Vlaardingen to talk about her brilliant career.

Best known for writing and producing the hit series Bones, Kathy Reichs has written over 21 novels which have been translated into 30 languages.  (Her first novel Deja Dead won The Arthur Ellis award for best novel in 1997).

In addition to her successful television series, Dr. Reichs has also taught in many universities including McGill and Concordia.  She is one of only 80 forensic anthropologists ever certified by the American Board of Forensic Anthropology. She also served on the Board of Directors and as Vice President of both the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and the American Board of Forensic Anthropology, and is currently a member of the National Police Services Advisory Council in Canada.

If you’re still not impressed, Dr. Reichs has even instructed FBI agents on the detection and recovery of human remains.  She is a consultant to The Office of The Chief Medical Examiner in North Carolina and to the Laboratoire de Sciences Judiciaires et de Medecine Legale for the province of Quebec.

Whether you’re a fan of the television series, a crime novel enthusiast or interested in the study of forensic science, this event will definitely not be dull.  You can even ask Kathy Reichs a question!
