Longer lights at Montreal crosswalks – Montreal Mayor Valerie Plante and the city of Montreal are investing in making it safer for pedestrians to walk across the street at traffic lights.
The city of Montreal is investing over $58.5 million in this project. Wait for it, the project is adding four to six seconds for pedestrians to walk across the street. Yes that is right $58.5 million.

“The new project will make the roads safer for all pedestrians,” said Montreal Mayor Valerie Plante.
The city of Montreal released on the facebook page that over 1,985 intersections with cross walks will be updated in over the next three years.
