Montreal Canadiens General Manager Marc Bergevin, announced today that the team has agreed to terms on a three-year, entry level contract (2018-19 to 2020-21) with defenseman Josh Brook.
The 6’01’’ and 187 lbs defenseman recorded 32 points (3 goals, 29 assists) in 45 games with the WHL’s Moose Jaw Warriors in 2017-18. Brook, 19, ranked second on the team and fourth in the WHL with a +48 differential. He served 36 penalty minutes. Brook added six points (1-5-6) in 14 playoff match-ups.
The defenseman, selected in the second round, 56th overall at the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, played 145 career games with the Warriors since making his junior debut in 2014-15. The Yorktown, Saskatchewan native recorded 82 points (15 goals, 67 assists) and 117 penalty minutes while displaying a +68 differential. He added 18 points (4-14-18) in 31 career playoff contests.
Brook is currently taking part in the Canadiens’ training camp. He also participated in the latest Canadiens’ development camp in June 2018.
