Over the past week a wayward humpback whale was drawing crowds in Old Montreal as the whale would jump out of the water as if it was saying hi to everyone.
Experts from the Quebec Marine Mammal Emergency Network had hoped the whale would make its way back to its normal waters on its own. However a humpback whale was found drifting down the St. Lawrence River early this morning (Tuesday June 9, 2020).
The lifeless body of the humpback whale was found 30 kilometres downstream from Montreal. The humpback whale was last seen swimming around Pointe-aux-Trembles two days ago.
