Since the start of the dry run on June 28, the cars of the Metropolitan Express Network (REM) have been running with frequencies similar to those of the future service. In light of the results obtained during this period of intensive testing, CDPQ Infra announces the date of opening to the public of the REM opens between Brossard and Gare Centrale stations on July 31.
The dry run will continue over the next few days, which will allow the teams to make the final adjustments to provide an optimal customer experience.
Future customers can learn about the details of the new service today on REM.info. In the coming weeks, the REM will also implement additional communication tools to support users.
Composed of 5 stations, the Rive-Sud branch of the REM will provide access in less than 18 minutes from Brossard to downtown Montreal.
How to use the REM?
The commissioning of the REM between the Brossard station and Central Station will soon take place. Find all of the information on the new network here.
Use a trip planner
You will be able to use your favourite trip planner to plan your commute and see schedules for the bus, metro, train and REM. These schedules will be available as of the first day of operation.
Transit fares for the REM
REM fares have been integrated in the ARTM fare schedule and also include metro, bus and train access to simplify your travel in the Greater Montréal area.
Transit fare prices vary according to your point of departure, your point of arrival, and the geographic zones you cross on the way (A, B, C or D). At the time of commissioning, and until the installation of gates in the stations in the fall of 2023, you will need to ensure that you validate your ticket using the on-site validators before entering the network.
Fares are compatible with your OPUS card
