Social media websites were buzzing late last night after residents in Quebec and Ontario heard a loud boom and witnessed flashes of light in the sky. According to multiple reports a meteor may have been the cause and hit Montreal’s West Island near Vaudreuil and Ottawa.
No reports were filed by police about explosions or fires, however several calls were made to Quebec police about the odd noise. A spokesman for the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada spoke to CBC news and explained that it could have probably been a shock caused by a meteorite.
