Saint Lucia launches TIKTOK account with hotel giveaways

Saint Lucia

The island of Saint Lucia is tapping into the power of social media with the launch of the destination’s official TikTok account @TravelSaintLucia. TikTok users will have the chance to win five (5) all-inclusive hotel stays over five (5) days from February 1st – 5th, 2022, through a new digital marketing campaign #TikTokSaintLucia, created to inspire wanderlust travel.

As one of the first Caribbean islands to launch TikTok, Saint Lucia will inspire new visitors with user-generated travel content and short-form mobile videos. Consumers can travel virtually to Saint Lucia from the comfort of their homes. During Covid lockdowns, people spent more time on social media dreaming about their next vacation and turning to social media for travel content, recommendations, and reviews. This makes the new TikTok account a perfect extension of Saint Lucia’s social media presence.

TikTok has become the fastest growing social media platform of the decade, which attracts a younger demographic (Generation Z and Millennials) and is used by over 1 billion individuals every month from all ages. These young independent travellers are among the first groups to embark on international travel as restrictions ease.

The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority hosted its first TikTok trip inviting four (4) travel-based influencers to discover the 27 mile long and 14-mile-wide island to kick off the launch. Over a week, Naomi Leanage (484.9K), Kimmie Davies Travel (193.3k), The Curious Creature (21.2k), and Yanimacute (231.2k) explored a wide range of sites and attractions, including the iconic Sulphur Springs Mud Baths, Diamond Falls, and Botanical Gardens as well as award-winning resorts: Jade Mountain ResortTi Kaye Resort & SpaStonefield Villa ResortBay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa, and The Harbor Club, Curio Collection by Hilton

The official #TikTokSaintLucia giveaway will take place from February 1st – 5th with a chance to win three (3) nights’ all-inclusive hotel accommodations at five (5) resorts. Each TikTok influencer will give away a hotel stay.
