As New York state just announced legalization of Mobile Sports Betting, world renowned sports bettor Jon Price cleaned up sportsbooks in the month of March dominating one of sports most prestigious and most popular sporting events of the year. Price is coming off of one of the greatest March Madness Tournament performances in the history of sports betting. He won an amazing 80% of his picks against the spread in this year’s tournament, topping his own personal best from a few years ago, and in the process made his private clients as a group over a million dollars during the big dance. Price got off to a very fast start in the tournament with a nearly perfect opening round, then kept the momentum rolling into round two, and didn’t stop until Baylor cutdown the championship nets in Indy.
Price, who entered the tournament with a preseason championship future bet on Baylor, knew the Bears would be there in the Final Four and after a strong open to the tournament placed one of his biggest wagers on the Bears in their second matchup of March Madness as they were -6 against 9th seeded Wisconsin. “This year’s tournament presented a lot of challenges to the average sports better but I saw a lot of value on the board early on and in particular with that Baylor-Wisconsin matchup,” said Price. “Baylor’s aggressive nature on both sides of the ball wasn’t going to give the Badgers even a moment to collect themselves and that line of -6 felt like a gift from the oddsmakers.” In the game, the Bears led the Badgers for 34 minutes, dominated offensively and forced 14 Wisconsin turnovers on the way to an easy 76-63 victory.
Jon was still only getting started as he entered the Sweet 16 and pocketed an easy winner with 2nd seeded Houston -6 over #11 seeded Syracuse before going back to his ace, the Baylor Bears, for his second biggest bet of the tournament as they were -7 facing 3rd seeded Arkansas with a chance to advance to the Final Four. “As good as Arkansas was this year, they had a lot of trouble starting fast in this year’s tournament,” said Price. “They trailed Colgate and Oregon State at halftime in two of their tournament games and Baylor is a start fast team. I expected the Bears to jump on them early. Baylor has too many great athletes and is too well coached to fall behind against.” In the game, the Bears Davion Mitchell hit a jump shot 15 seconds into the game giving a Baylor a 2-0 lead and the Bears went on to dominate the Razorbacks, leading wire to wire en route to an easy 81-72 win.
Going into the Final Four, Jon had already put together arguably the best March Madness bracket of any handicapper over the last 25 years, but it’s all for nothing if you don’t close-out the Final Four and the Championship game with big winners, which is exactly what he did starting with the Baylor-Houston semi finals matchup. “The Cougars were a fun team to watch during the tournament but thanks to several upsets, they beat only double digit seeds in the tournament to get to Baylor,” said Price. “I saw the Baylor -5 game line and it didn’t look right to me so looking deeper into the match up and considering that Houston had been a very good second half team, I saw the highest value in the first half of this game and that’s what we went with.” With a first half line of Baylor -2 1/2, Price unloaded a massive wager on the Bears in the first 20 minutes of the game and Baylor didn’t disappoint lighting up Houston with 45 points and suffocating them on defense to the tune of a 25 point halftime lead and an easy winner for Price heading into the Monday night championship game.
Heading into Monday night’s championship game Price already knew that he was having his best NCAA Tournament in years but he also knew that a win in the heavyweight battle between Baylor and Gonzaga would put him at an incredible 80% for the tournament. “This was the perfect final matchup for the public to see before crowning a national champion and while Gonzaga had been undefeated all year and labeled the team to beat, we felt that there was an imbalance in this matchup that favored Baylor.” Price said. “Prior to the tournament, Gonzaga hadn’t faced a ranked team since Christmas while the Bears played several ranked teams to close out their Big 12 schedule. The Bears battled, lost to and prevailed against really tough teams down the stretch and in the Big 12 tournament and we saw them using their shot making skills to jump on the Zags early in this game. At the same time, Gonzaga’s talent and experience is something that you have to respect and in that sense believe that they would find a way back in the game so we went back to a first half play to close out the tournament.” Playing Baylor +2 1/2 in the first half, the drama and mystery was over instantly for Price as the Bears raced out to a 9-0 lead on the Zags and went on to lead by 19 points before going into the half with a 10 point lead. “It was pretty incredible to hit 80% at halftime of the national championship game,” said Price. “Obviously for the purposes of my futures bet I wanted to see Baylor finish the job but to be able to sit back as a spectator and just watch and enjoy the last 20 minutes of the national championship was the perfect way to close out what was arguably the greatest NCAA tournament experience that I’ve ever had.”
An impressive run but nothing too surprising from the man that many consider to be the greatest sports bettor and handicapper alive today.
