Montreal Vegan Festival – Calling all vegan lovers

Montreal Vegan Festival

After last year’s event that attracted over 20,000 visitors, the sixth annual edition of the Montreal Vegan Festival is set for another weekend at the Palais de Congres; this time, it will take place on September 21 and 22.

The festival will include plenty of bilingual activities, such as a panel discussion on the topic All Gain, No Pain: World-Class Vegan Athletes Break Stereotypes, which will include former Hab Georges Laraque, John Lewis and this year’s festival spokesman, 2016 CFL East All-Star Marc-Olivier Brouillette of the Alouettes. As well, there will be plenty of experts in attendance, such as Dr. Kim Allan Williams who will talk about nutrition and heart disease, Dr. Jonathan Balcombe, how to live a vegan life at home, and life on farm sanctuaries. There will also be plenty of kiosks where visitors will have the chance not only to watch cooking demos, but also sample many types of delicious vegan food, and purchase a wide assortment of vegan goods.

There will also be 20 new workshops for vegan lovers, where for a fee of $20, visitors can get special hands-on training in a private, small-scale group setting and can learn about such topics as cruelty-free cosmetics, animal first aid and what foods are ideal for sporting performance. As an added bonus, this year’s festival will give 1,000 people a chance to be Friends of the MVF; for a $20 membership, they will get exclusive early access to the festival from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on September 21, as well as receive a 10% discount on all purchases from participating vendors.

Admission to the 6th Montreal Vegan Festival is FREE.
