After the accepted resignation for Dr. Horacio Arruda yesterday Quebec Premier Francois Legault has named Dr. Luc Boileau as the Quebec interim public health director.
Premier Legault thanked Dr. Arruda for difficult task of explaining all the public health decisions over the last 22 months of the pandemic. “being in front of the media every day and explaining these decisions is not easy for anyone,” added Premier Legault. “I think there are some advantages to having someone new after all these months, to take on the responsibilities.”
Dr. Horacio Arruda will be taking a few weeks off for rest before he returns in another role that has yet to be determined.
Dr. Horacio Arruda held the director of health position for almost 12 years and was reappointed in June 2020 for another three years.
