The NHL’s newest team is about to go through the league and start picking some of the leagues biggest names like Montreal Canadiens Carey Price. NHL teams across the league are scrambling to protect their players with last minute moves, however, it might be too late to protect some very big names as Seattle will announce their team this Wednesday.

Seattle will have a very stacked locker room for its opening season and the number one player could be from the Montreal Canadiens, namely Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price.
Star goaltender Carey Price waived his no-trade clause in his contract to be placed on the unprotected list. The 33 year old net minder comes with a heavy price tag, with an average of $10.5 million for the next five years.
Although Carey Price showed his brilliance in this years NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs is Ron Francis the general manager of the Seattle Kraken going to tie up over $50 million.
The Habs head office also left more Montreal Canadiens big names on the unprotected list. Left-winger Paul Bryon, forwards Philip Danault, Corey Perry and defenceman and Montreal Canadiens Shea Weber is also on the unprotected list, as his future playing hockey due to injuries is a little grey and undetermined if he will be returning at all.
