MONTREAL, June 19, 2025 – In what was a very sunny Montreal, more than 352,000 spectators answered the call this past weekend while millions watched from around the world. Octane Racing Group says it is very satisfied with the results of the 2025 edition of the Formula 1 Pirelli Canadian Grand Prix, held from June 13th to 15th on the legendary Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
F1 Racing Continuing until 2035
Following this edition, the backers, including Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions, the Ministry of Tourism, the City of Montreal, Société du Parc Jean-Drapeau, Tourisme Montréal and Octane Racing Group, yesterday announced the renewal of the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal until 2035, extending the presence of this iconic event in the city for a seventh decade. This renewal is also accompanied by the long-term extension of the broadcasting agreement with Bell Media.
A Grand Prix that brings people together
Once again this year, the event combined sporting performance, innovation, social engagement, eco-responsibility and entertainment. In addition to yesterday’s great news, here are the highlights of the weekend :The arrival of the F1 ACADEMY™ in Montreal, marking the first time an all-female race was presented all three days, The renewal of the Montreal round of the F1 ACADEMY™ until 2028, a record attendance over the three days, confirming the public’s unfailing enthusiasm for the Canadian Grand Prix, Improved mobility thanks to a new mobile application to optimize spectator flow ;The ongoing modernization of the infrastructure by the Octane Racing Group, to meet the growing standards of F1.
Stellar performances that put Montreal on the map
Throughout the weekend, fans were treated to a musical line-up that reflected the diversity and cultural dynamism of Montreal : DJ Mike Demero, EMI JEEN and FAFA KHAN took to the main stages, The opening show by La Compagnie Invisible and the Willingdon School Choir set the tone for the official ceremony,The flight of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds left a lasting impression on a sunny Sunday, International DJ TCHAMI brought the event to a close in front of an electrified crowd on the Heineken stage.
