Parc Omega unveils new night walk: ONIRO. What do animals dream of?

Parc Omega debuts new night walk immersive experience

MONTEBELLO, Thursday, July 3, 2025 – Starting June 28, a new experience comes to life at Parc Omega: ONIRO. What do animals dream of? This brand-new nighttime walking trail, imagined by internationally renowned artist Michel Lemieux and produced by H2Emotion, invites the public on a journey through the eyes of a lost young wolf in the heart of the forest. Accompanied by an original soundtrack, animated projections, and carefully crafted lighting, the work unfolds in 17 scenes designed to amaze, move, and surprise.

More than 50 artists and cultural talents from Quebec

Estimated at $5.8M, this large-scale project brings together more than 50 artists and cultural talents from Quebec. Audiences will hear the voices of well-known performers such as Gillian Doria, Jean Marchand, Mariah Inger, Vincent Leclerc, Lucas diTecco and Megan JonkerONIRO. What do animals dream of? will be open from Thursday to Monday during the summer, with performances continuing into the fall and winter.

A 60-minute contemplative walk through 17 animated scenes

This one-kilometre walking trail offers a dreamlike journey through the forest. Visitors follow the narrative thread of a mother wolf dreaming that one of her pups, Oniro, is separated from the pack by a forest fire. Alone and lost, Oniro embarks on an unexpected journey filled with encounters with other animals. Each scene offers a distinct atmosphere, blending technology and emotion to create an experience that is both contemplative and spectacular.

Michel Lemieux, creator and co-writer.

“Since the dawn of time, we humans have dreamed every night. It’s surprising to learn that animals dream too—mammals and birds among others. The initial inspiration for this creation came from a desire to explore what unites us with animals, while sparking awe and humility in the face of nature. The power of dreams can change the world,” says Michel Lemieux, creator and co-writer.

A new cultural and tourist attraction

ONIRO. What do animals dream of? allows Parc Omega to expand its offerings by adding a unique nighttime dimension to the destination. Located 90 minutes from Montreal and 45 minutes from Gatineau, the site is designed to appeal to families, immersive art enthusiasts, and tourists seeking a one-of-a-kind nature experience. With this new attraction, Parc Omega expects to welcome 50,000 additional visitors per year, helping to boost regional vitality.

Martin Laviolette, CEO and producer at H2Emotion

“For H2Emotion, Oniro is first and foremost a beautiful, moving story—the kind we love to imagine and tell,” says Martin Laviolette, CEO and producer at H2Emotion. “It’s also the result of Michel Lemieux’s exceptional creative talent, our amazing team’s expertise, and a strong, trusting partnership with Parc Omega’s leadership. We’re extremely proud of this original new venture and confident in its success.”

“Throughout this immersive experience, it’s the trees of the forest that tell us the story of Oniro, the lost wolf pup who grows through discovery. We know that trees are all connected by their roots, just as animals and humans are interconnected. The challenge is to evoke the invisible ties that lie beneath the surface,” says Denis Morin, co-writer.

“Parc Omega is proud to present this creation by Michel Lemieux and H2Emotion, which perfectly embodies the entertaining and magical spirit of Parc Omega,” says Benjamin Vallée, Executive General Manager of Parc Omega. “The fabulous tale of Oniro adds even more enchantment to Parc Omega, and we’re confident that many visitors will enjoy and cherish this extraordinary adventure.”
