Montreal’s Little Italy hosts FREE summer picnics

Free summer picnic concerts in Little Italy

Montreal, July 10, 2025 – The Société de développement commercial (SDC) Petite Italie–Marché Jean-Talon has announced the much-anticipated return of Samedis pour Emporter. These musical urban picnics will bring life to Parc de la Petite Italie once a month, from July to September.

Designed as welcoming, all-access events, Samedis pour Emporter offer a laid-back vibe, special promotions from local businesses, and free live music featuring talented local artists—bringing vibrant energy to summer Saturdays in Little Italy.

These picnics perfectly capture the spirit of the little Italy : food-loving, festive and inclusive. It’s the ideal event to celebrate summer in an iconic setting that brings together residents, business owners, and visitors around what we cherish most : our community,” says Marco Mollé, Executive Director of the SDC Petite Italie.

A Fully Free, Music-Filled Program

The 2025 edition kicks off on July 19 at 7 p.m. David Bujold will present his first solo folk album, infused with classical tones and slacker rock. Expect a soothing and intimate performance, perfect for a get-together summer evening in the park.

On August 23, the band Patche will take over the Dante Street alley with a live krautrock-electro-dance performance as part of a special Ferragosto-themed edition of Samedis pour emporter. Local merchants will offer bites and beverages in a lively, high-energy atmosphere.The Samedis pour Emporter series will wrap up on September 13 at 7 p.m. with one last festive evening to close the season on a high note. Less Toches, a Colombian-rooted group will light up Parc de la Petite Italie with their infectious, folkloric cumbia sounds in a fun and festive setting.

A Vibrant, Food-Loving Neighbourhood:

The Dolce Vita of Montreal SummersSamedis pour Emporter are part of a rich and diverse summer lineup that includes Ferragosto, a block party hosted by the renowned pizzeria Gemma (August 24), outdoor movie nights and gathering events. All summer long through September, Little Italy becomes an open-air cultural and culinary hub.One Saturday a month, visitors are invited to Parc de la Petite Italie for a festive and flavourful break—a perfect way to savour summer in Montreal’s tastiest neighbourhood.
