MONTREAL, July 2, 2026 – The AfroMonde Festival is back for its 18th consecutive year, August 6–9, 2026, from noon to 11 p.m. For the 18th consecutive year, the AfroMonde Festival transforms the Quai de l’Horloge in Montreal’s Old Port into a vibrant hub of Afro-descendant cultures.
This major celebration is open to anyone who would like to experience the event, with an eco-friendly admission fee of $3.99 for all attendees. Please note that admission is free at all times for children under 12 and seniors 65 and older.
Beyond the concerts, the Allée des Saveurs invites festivalgoers on a culinary journey through the cuisines of Africa, the Caribbean, and diasporas around the world. Artisanal booths, corporate spaces, and the Village des Saveurs come together to create a vibrant, bustling venue that reflects the continent that inspired it.

The festival also features the Black Forest Stage, the Black Forest Cabaret, the Exclusive VIP Zone, and the AfroMonde Cup—a soccer, basketball, and fitness tournament open to all communities.
Eighteen years ago, Agnès Mbome, who came from Cameroon, had a simple yet revolutionary idea: to provide cultures of African descent with a space worthy of their grandeur, right in the heart of Montreal. This idea gave rise to the AfroMonde Festival, which is now recognized as Canada’s largest celebration of African heritage. Agnès Mbome brought to Montreal one of the most sacred festivals of her culture—the Ngondo, an ancestral ceremony of the peoples of the Wouri River—and planted, on the banks of the St. Lawrence, the roots of a proud and vibrant identity.
“This festival has spent 18 years proving that culture is the primary bridge between peoples. AfroMonde is not an event about Africa. It is a festival that radiates from Africa,” said Agnès Mbome, co-founder and executive director, AfroMonde Foundation.
Here is an overview of the program for the festival’s four days:
Thursday, August 6 | AFRO POP: The contemporary music scene of African descent takes center stage.
Friday, August 7 | AFRO VIBES: Groove, electronic music, dance, and immersive performances.
Saturday, August 8 | AFRO UNITY: Intercultural dialogue, performing arts, and a family-friendly area.
Sunday, August 9 | AFRO ROOTS CARNIVAL: The grand parade of cultures. Costumes, percussion, and carnival.
The full program will be announced very soon! The festival is supported by Canadian Heritage, the City of Montreal, and Tourisme Montréal.
