Montreal winter storm with 20 – 40 cm on its way

Montreal winter storm with 20 – 40 cm on its way

Snowfall amounts of 20 to 40 centimetres and blowing snow are expected.

A powerful storm will track across Southwestern Quebec on Tuesday. Snow will gradually begin late Tuesday afternoon and will rapidly intensify in the evening. Heavy precipitation will continue on Wednesday.

Total snowfall amounts of 20 to 30 centimetres are generally expected with this storm. Regions in the St Lawrence Valley, between Montreal and Montmagny, as well as the Outaouais and Temiscamingue regions could see between 30 and 40 centimetres. In addition, strong winds combined with snow may significantly reduce visibilities in blowing snow.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations.

Also keep in mind that gaps and cracks in your walls will allow snow and water to freeze and causing damage to your walls.
