#GOALMTL charity – If you’re a community-minded soccer fan, then you certainly don’t want to miss a two-day wellness festival and soccer tournament on July 6 and 7 at Percival Molson Stadium that will benefit the GOAL Initiatives Foundation, which helps to empower communities and its citizens to take control of their wellness by creating events and experiences along with a group of visionary partners, which in turn gives back to the community. Admission is free to the two-day event.

#GOALMTL charity wellness festival and footy tournament

On July 6, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., will be the GOAL Wellness Festival and Footy Tournament. Activities include the airing on a giant screen of the Women’s World Cup Semi-Final match in France; a footy soccer tournament that is open for the public to participate in ($55 per person, or $550 per team) and registration includes a soccer jersey and two drink tickets; a speaker series on wellness that will be moderated by Ryan Aronson and feature guest speakers Shaun Proulx, Lee Haberkorn, and Sterling Downey, as well as on-site food and drink kiosks that will offer non-alcoholic beverages. All proceeds from the day will benefit Dans la rue.

The July 7 portion of the event, which also takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., is dedicated to GOAL MTL, a footy festival that integrates soccer with the art world, music, culture and community. It begins with the live airing of the Women’s World Cup Final match on a giant screen; a soccer tournament with teams representing such merchants and organizations as evenko, Passion Soccer Boutique, the Burgundy Lion Group, Kampai Gardens, FS MTL, the Lighthouse Counselling Centre, Telus and many more; and a speaker series focusing on women in sports with guest speakers Emilie Fillion, Lynda Guy and two former players from the CSA National team. Proceeds from the day will benefit Montreal Community Cares and Share the Warmth.

Other activities during the two days include a mini soccer clinic, complimentary haircuts courtesy of Maison Privee, a boutique courtesy of Passion soccer, on site activities with evenko, beauty consultations with Kiehl’s, onsite art demonstrations with Under Pressure Art & Graffiti, and many more.
