Rona Pierrefond – AJOI is proud to announce that throughout the month of September 2018, RONA Pierrefonds, located on St- Charles Boulevard, will raise funds by asking customers if they wish to donate $ 2, $ 5 or $ 10 at the time of checkout. Lowe’s Canada is also committed to matching 50% of all funds raised, to a maximum of $2,000.
All proceeds from this fundraising event will support Ricochet, a project created by AJOI, which aims to create housing resources for youth experiencing residential instability on the West Island. In 2017-2018, the issue of homelessness was addressed more than 2,500 times in the interventions made by outreach street workers and AJOI staff. Currently, there is no housing resource for youth who are homeless or at risk of homelessness on the West Island.
The AJOI team would like to warmly thank RONA and their customers; every donation will make a noticeable difference in the lives of vulnerable young people in our community.

Ricochet’s Mission and goals
Ricochet’s mission is to create housing resources for young people between the ages of 18 and 35 who are experiencing residential instability in the West Island.
Our goals:

Build, acquire, own, improve and administer one or more housing projects for young people oflow/modest incomes in order to facilitate their social reintegration.

Offer accommodation and individualized comprehensive support that takes into account each unique circumstance.

Prevent homelessness by supporting youth in order to prevent them from becoming homeless.

Promote social integration of young people by empowering them.

Raise awareness to the invisible housing needs of West Island youth.
Vision: Ricochet has been incorporated since August 29, 2017, and is now waiting for its charitable number from the Canada Revenue Agency.
AJOI and Ricochet are two distinct entities. Ricochet has been created by AJOI, and is managed/administered by AJOI until Ricochet becomes an autonomous non-profit organization.
