What happened to the UNICEF box?

Unicef-box-web-min

UNICEF box – Do you remember ‘Trick or Treating’ with the Unicef box around your neck? Ring the door bell and say, “Trick or Treat” and after you receive the candy hold out the orange box and say “Unicef”. People would fill it with pennies and change. The string that your Mom put on the box to hold it around your neck would start to dig in and hurt as it filled up. The next day at school we would bring in our boxes and count how much money was raised.

UNICEF’s Mission

Did you know?

UNICEF is the only organization listed in the Convention on the Rights of the Child as the global leader for children.

UNICEF is on a mission to reach every child and ensure their well-being, no matter where they are in this world. There’s no limit to the lengths UNICEF will go, the risks we’ll take or the depth of our commitment to save children’s lives. By plane, boat or foot, we reach the poorest, most vulnerable children in the world’s most inaccessible places, bringing them simple, life-saving essentials like vaccines and clean water.

We are committed to take action, save, rehabilitate and watch over children, with a special attention to the most vulnerable and excluded groups.

UNICEF utilizes its influence not only to provide safety for children in need, but also to make a noticeable change in their overall outlook on life. UNICEF believes that if we create a safe, nurturing environment, then every child will get a chance in life regardless of circumstances.

As part of the UN, we are active in more countries and have saved more children’s lives than any other humanitarian organization. UNICEF is the only organization listed in the Convention on the Rights of the Child, as the global leader for children.
